Moving with Balance towards Racial Justice

Acting Outward for Justice and Focusing inward for Spirituality
7-WEEK ONLINE SERIES WITH GENEVIEVE HICKS AND LAURA HUMPF STARTING THURSDAY, MARCH 30 FROM 2-3:15PM

Does racial and social justice feel in conflict with your spiritual practice at times?

Do you want to bridge your activism with the sacred?

Are you a yoga or meditation practitioner that is beginning to understand racial injustice and are unsure what to do?

Join us for an online book club and group exploration of the book Living in the Tension: The Quest for a Spiritualized Racial Justice by Shelly Tochluk.

Mindfulness, self reflection and embodiment practices cultivate a greater capacity to pay attention to both race and spirituality simultaneously.
Let’s learn to move out in the world as compassionate fierce forces for racial justice.

The class meets for 7 weeks, exploring a new chapter each week. We’ll use an online meeting platform, Zoom, to meet in real time, face-to-face, from all over the country to discuss, share, and learn from each other. Our sessions will be recorded if you have to miss one, or if you want to go back to review or further integrate the material and practices.

We will build online community to engage with topics of racism, anti-racism, and whiteness through:
*journaling
*integration and embodiment practices
*small group discussions
*meditation
*closed facebook group
*sharing of outside resources and readings
*recorded sessions that you can return to and watch anytime
